The Diagnostics Center at Grand Itasca is centrally located offering easy access for all clinic and hospital services.

The Diagnostics Center  includes:

  • Radiology

  • Sleep Lab

  • Laboratory and;

  • Anti-Coagulation Clinic

Radiology Offers the Most Up-To-Date Equipment in the Area.

  • A 64-slice Computerized Tomography (CT) scanner, one of only five in the state, will allow Grand Itasca to now perform high resolution cardiac studies that can be sent to your cardiologist or cardiac surgeon.
  • New state-of-the art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment.
  • Digital images – making an almost film-less environment where clinicians can view scans on a computer through the new picture archiving communication system.

Our radiology department has over 20 technologists trained to perform specialized imaging procedures, including:

  • MRI and CT
  • Mammography
  • Bone density testing
  • Ultrasound
  • Nuclear medicine
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Clinic radiographic services
  • Echocardiography

Sleep Lab Provides Specialized Testing

Sleep disorders can have a tremendous effect on our physical well-being and our ability to cope with the challenges of everyday. Studies have proven it affects our productivity as well as our health.

Under the direction of the St. Mary’s/Duluth Clinic Sleep Center, Grand Itasca’s certified sleep technologist conduct sleep disorder testing. After testing, and SMDC physician specializing in sleep disorders monitors and reviews all results and recommends treatments for a variety of sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, restless legs, snoring and narcolepsy.

Laboratory Services Provided By Experienced Personnel

Services provided by our highly-trained and experienced lab technicians include:

  • Lab draws
  • BAT (Breathe alcohol testing)
  • DOT (Urine drug screen collection for employers)
  • Therapeutic phlebotomy
  • Bone marrows (performed in ER)
  • Thyroid aspirations (performed in ER)

Anti-Coagulation Clinic Provides an Easy and Safe Way to Monitor Anti-Coagulation Medication.

Grand Itasca’s Anti-Coagulation Clinic offers patients a quick and accurate method in which levels of anti-coagulation medicine can be checked, monitored and adjusted.

For patients who use the drug Coumadin, Warfarin, or Jantoven frequent monitoring of drug levels is vital to maintain the proper dosage. The anti-coagulation clinic provides this service to many patients allowing them easy access to testing with immediate results. Housed within Grand Itasca’s Diagnostic Center, skilled Registered Nurses are available to perform a simple finger-stick pro-time test and within minutes your results are available and adjustments can be made to your dosing schedule if necessary. All changes are recorded in your medical record, allowing your physician easy access to the results and any adjustments that may be required.

The Anti-Coagulation Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Grand Itasca’s new Women’s Health Center is specifically designed so women can maintain a high degree of privacy while undergoing several procedures and testing during the same visit, such as mammography, ultrasound, and bone density testing.

 

In addition to the private area for woman's diagnostic testing, the center offers convenient same day appointments for screening mammograms.
