PediatricsOh how we have grown! It wasn’t that long ago
that Grand Itasca added pediatricians Dr. Jan Rourk and Dr. Shannon Harker
to the former staff of one, pediatric nurse practitioner Pam Friesen.
Whether it is noted in the four new hospital rooms geared toward our pediatric patients, the plaque in the front lobby for the award winning Medical Home initiative, or the observation of a team of obstetricians and pediatricians tenderly caring for higher risk births, the addition of Pediatric Services to Grand Itasca has really had an impact. In the spring of 2006 at Minnesota Academy of Pediatricians, the Medical Home Initiative at Grand Itasca received special recognition. The initiative, guided by Dr. Jan Rourk, provides parents of children with special needs a resource to ensure that all of the medical and non-medical needs of their special child is met.
