Corine Buechner, FNP-C |
Corine
Buechner is a board certified family nurse practitioner with 17
years of experience in primary care. Raised in St. Paul, she
recieved her BSN in nursing at the University of Minnesota and
attended the University of North Dakota family nurse practitioner
program. Corine loves walking tn the woods with her dogs,
bicycling, gardening, reading and quilting.

Jodie Carey, FNP |
Jodie Carey is a board-certified family nurse
practitioner. Carey is a graduate of the Marion College in
Indianapolis, IN. She holds a master in nursing from the College of
St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. Before joining Grand Itasca in 2010,
Mrs. Carey worked as public health nurse in Carlton and Lake
counties of Minnesota. She has a special interest in maternal and
child health, chronic disease education and management, and
geriatric issue. In her spare time, Mrs. Carey enjoys the
out-of-doors and reading.

Patty Carlin-Janssen, MD |
Dr. Carlin-Janssen, a
board-certified family physician, joined Grand Itasca in 1998. A native of Fairbault, MN, she attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and completed her Family Practice residency at United Family Medicine in St. Paul, MN.

Jack Carlisle, MD |
Dr. Carlisle is a
board-certified family physician. Raised in Crete, Illinois, he completed medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. Following his residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine, Dr. Carlisle joined Grand Itasca in 1990. His personal interests include fishing, hunting and travel.

Cathy Cleary, MD |
Dr. Cleary is a
board-certified family physician. She completed medical school at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Following her residency at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN, Dr. Cleary practiced in Minneapolis and Boise, ID. She joined Grand Itasca in 1997. A native of Jamestown, ND, Dr. Cleary enjoys cooking, reading, music, church activities, skiing and canoeing – and perhaps boasts a record for reading “Go Dog Go” to her children more than 1000 times.

Dr. Cole-Anthony is a
board-certified family physician. Raised in Grand Rapids, MN Dr. Cole-Anthony is a graduate of the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN. Following her residency at North Memorial Medical Center in Minneapolis, Dr. Cole-Anthony joined Grand Itasca in 2005.

John Fedje-Johnston, MD |
Dr. Fedje-Johnston is a
board-certified family physician. Raised in Grand Rapids, MN, Dr. Fedje-Johnston attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Following his residency at the Duluth Family Practice Residency Program, Dr. Fedje-Johnston joined Grand Itasca in 1996.

Jana Fultz, FNP |
Jana Fultz, FNP joined Grand
Itasca in November of 2008 but worked as a Registered Nurse in the
Emergency Room at Grand Itasca while she complete her Family Nurse
Practitioner education.
Her special area of interests include female and adolescent health,
pediatrics, cardiology and chronic disease education and prevention.

Judith Garshelis, FNP |
Ms. Garshelis is a certified family nurse practitioner. A graduate of the University of Vermont, she also holds a master in nursing from the College of St. Scholastica and a master in public health from the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining Grand Itasca in 1996, Ms. Garshelis worked as a registered nurse and authored and directed a Maternal and Child Health grant program in 13 Northwestern Minnesota counties. A native of Falmouth, MA, Ms. Garshelis enjoys skiing, swimming, rollerblading and playing the piano.

Dr. Gerling, a
board-certified family physician, joined Grand Itasca in 1987. A native of Little Falls, MN, Dr. Gerling attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and completed his residency at St. Francis Mayo, LaCrosse, WI. Dr. Gerling enjoys outdoor activities and reading.

Dr. Gustafson is a
board-certified family physician. Raised in Red Wing, MN, Dr. Gustafson attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Following his residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Family Health Center in Appleton, WI, Dr. Gustafson joined Grand Itasca in 1990.

Richard Helvig, MD |
Dr. Helvig is a
board-certified family physician. Raised in South St. Paul, MN, Dr. Helvig attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Following his residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Dr. Helvig joined Grand Itasca in 1976.

Philip Imholte, MD |
A native of Detroit Lakes, MN, Dr. Imholte
joined Grand Itasca in January of 2010. Dr. Imholte is a graduate of
the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He completed his
residency training at the Duluth Family Medicine Residency Program.
His special interests include: obstetrics, sports medicine,
complementary and alternative medicine, and procedures including
vasectomies.

Kristin Johnson, MD |
Dr. Johnson is an AAFP board certified family
practitioner. She responds to both men and women's requests for more
of their physician's time to clarify health information and to make
health and wellness decisions together.
Kristin practices at the
New Spirit Women's Clinic.

Suzanne Koprowski, CNP |
Sue is certified in women's health and
pediatrics. She believes women's health is a rapidly changing and
challenging field. Sue specializes in current and accurate
information for collaborative efforts. Developmental issues and
health of children and adolescents are of special interest.
Suzanne practices at the
New Spirit Women's Clinic.

Michael Liebe, MD |
Dr. Liebe is a board-certified
family physician. A native of Proctor, MN, Dr. Liebe attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Following his residency at St. Francis Mayo in LaCrosse, WI, Dr. Liebe joined Grand Itasca in 1993.

Bonnie McGuire, DPN-BC |
Bonnie McGuire, DNP-BC joined Grand Itasca in
June of 2010. Ms. McGuire
is Grand Itasca’s first Doctor of Nursing Practice and is Board
Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She attended the
University of North Dakota, graduating in December of 2009.
Ms. McGuire
has special interests in work place wellness, diabetes and
oncology. As a wife of a pastor and a mother or six, McGuire plays
an active role in her community, church, and mission work.

Heather Orhn, CNP |
Heather is certified in women's health. She
has a strong background in family planning and reproductive health
for women of all ages. She continues education in family practice
and gerontology. Heather
practices at the New Spirit Women's
Clinic.

Timothy Pehl, MD |
Dr. Pehl, a board-certified family physician, joined Grand Itasca in 2001. He attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and completed has family practice residency at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. A native of Delano, MN, Dr. Pehl enjoys motorcycling and woodworking in his spare time.

Dr. Romanik is a
board-certified family physician. A native of Bigfork, MN, Dr. Romanik attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Following her residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, MN, Dr. Romanik joined Grand Itasca in 2000.

William Rutherford, MD |
Dr. Rutherford is a
board-certified family physician. A native of Fisher, MN, Dr. Rutherford attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and completed medical school at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Following his residency in family practice at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Dr. Rutherford joined Grand Itasca in 1980. An avid outdoorsman, his personal interests include cross country skiing, hiking, hunting, canoeing and fishing.

Dr. Scherer is a board-certified family physician. Raised in Wayzata, MN, Dr. Scherer attended Creighton University Medical School in Omaha, NE. Following his residency at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN, Dr. Scherer joined Grand Itasca in 1977.

A native of Hoyt
Lakes MN, Dr. Soular attended medical school at the
University of
Minnesota in
Duluth and
Minneapolis. Following the
completion of his Family Medicine residency at the
University of
Minnesota, Dr.
Soular joined Grand Itasca in 2008. His personal interests are
running, hockey and golf.

Ms. Thom, a certified family nurse practitioner, joined Grand Itasca in 1993. A native of Spiritwood, ND, Ms. Thom attended Jamestown College and completed her physician assistant and nurse practitioner certifications at the University of North Dakota.

Anne Tofte, MD |
Dr. Tofte is a board-certified family physician. Raised in Two Harbors, MN, Dr. Tofte is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota – Duluth. Following her residency at United Family Medicine – Allina Hospitals and Clinics in St. Paul, Dr. Tofte joined Grand Itasca in 2006. Dr. Tofte’s clinical interests include Women’s Health and complementary and alternative medicine. She enjoys camping, hiking, piano, knitting, ballroom dancing, cooking and reading.

Ms. Villeneuve is a certified nurse practitioner
with a specialty in geriatric medicine. A native of Bogalusa, LA, she graduated from the College of St. Scholastica and holds a master of nursing degree. Ms. Villeneuve joined Grand Itasca in 2001. Her personal interests include cooking and spending time with her family.

Dr. Rourk is a board-certified pediatrician. Originally from Southfield, MI, she attended the University of Wyoming and completed medical school at the University of Michigan. Following her residency at the University of Michigan, Dr. Rourk joined Grand Itasca in 2003. She enjoys cross country skiing and swimming in her spare time.

Pam Friesen, PNP |
Ms. Friesen is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner. Originally from Wayzata, MN, Ms. Friesen graduated from the College of St. Benedict and also completed graduate studies at the College of St.
Catherine. An outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys gardening, reading, bilking, skiing and boating.
She joined Grand Itasca in 1993.
