Dr. Gold is a board-certified anesthesiologist. A native of Mandan, ND, Dr. Gold attended medical school at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Gold joined Grand Itasca in 2005.

Steven Lader, MD

Dr. Lader is a board-certified
anesthesiologist. He grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and completed his
residency in anesthesiology in nearby Hershey, PA, at the Milton S.
Hershey Medical Center. Lader joined Grand Itasca in 2004.

Roy Kjorlien, DC |
Dr. Kjorlien is a
board-certified chiropractor and a fellow of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedists. A native of Perham, MN, Dr. Kjorlien attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic. Dr. Kjorlien joined Grand Itasca in 1997.

John Barry, MD |
Dr. Barry is board-certified
in internal medicine. Raised in Woodbury, MN, Dr. Barry attended the
University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, and completed medical school
at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Following his
residency in internal medicine at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in
Minneapolis, Dr. Barry joined Grand Itasca in 2004.

Jamison Harker, MD |
Dr. Harker is board-certified
in internal medicine. Raised in Crosby, MN, Dr. Harker graduated from
the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and completed his
residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Dr.
Harker joined Grand Itasca in 2004 and enjoys hunting, fishing,
gardening and bird watching in his spare time.

Darin Skaudis, MD |
Darin Skaudis, MD joined Grand Itasca in July
of 2010 as a Hospital Medicine Specialist. Dr. Skaudis attended
medical school at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. In
June of 2010 Dr. Skaudis completed his internal medicine residency
at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
Dr. Skaudis’
special interests include: patient safety and quality improvement
as well as adult health.

Obstetrics/Gynecology

Paula Dearholt-Winckler, WHNPP |
Dearholt-Winckler
obtained a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of
North Dakota in 1992. Before returning to school to receive her
Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner certificate in 1998, she worked as
a clinic nurse in St. Paul, MN, a clinical research coordinator in
Minneapolis, MN, and labor and delivery nurse in Bemidji, MN. She
received a master of science in nursing degree from the University
of Phoenix in 2005. Most recently, Ms. Winckler has been a Women’s
Health Practitioner at the Bigfork Valley Clinic in Coleraine, MN.

Patricia Westerberg, MD |
Dr. Westerberg is
board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of OB/GYN. Raised in Deerwood, MN, Dr. Westerberg attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and completed her residency in OB/GYN at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Westerberg joined Grand Itasca in 2003. Dr. Westerberg enjoys walking and golf in her spare time.

Ophthalmology

Chris Buntrock, MD

Dr. Buntrock, a
board-certified ophthalmologist, is a partner at Consultative Eye
Care in Wayzata, MN. As part of his practice, he also provides
surgical eye care for patients in Moose Lake. Dr. Buntrock, a former
Grand Rapids native, previously worked for Bonner and Buntrock Eye
Clinic in Grand Rapids and Mesaba Clinic in Hibbing. Buntrock
attended the University of Notre Dame and University of Wisconsin.
He obtained his medical degree at Wisconsin in 1986 and completed
his residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Wisconsin
in 1990.

Roberta Zimmerman, MD |
Dr. Zimmerman is a
board-certified pathologist. Raised in St. Paul, MN, Dr. Zimmerman attended the University of Minnesota School of Medicine and completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology. Dr. Zimmerman joined Grand Itasca in
1986.

Kenneth Stapleton, LP |
Ken Stapleton is a licensed psychologist. A native of Littlefork, MN, Stapleton attended St. Mary’s College where he completed his master of psychology and counseling services degree.
Mr. Stapleton joined Grand Itasca in 1997.

Podiatry

Thomas Perendy, DPN |
Tom Perendy, DPM, is a board
certified podiatrist. Dr. Perendy graduated from the University of
Minnesota, Mankato, and received his Doctor of Podiatry Medicine
from Wm. M. Scholl’s College of Podiatric Medicine. He is a
Diplomate of the American Board of Lower Extremity Surgery. His
special interests include all aspects of foot and ankle care, by he
particularly enjoys biomechanics, diabetic foot care and surgery.

Radiology

Dr.
Steve Haugen |
Dr. Haugen is a board-certified radiologist. Prior
to completing his fellowship at the University of Michigan in June
of 2006, he graduated from the Creighton University School of
Medicine and completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the
University of Minnesota Medical School. He has also held numerous
teaching postions.

Dr. Johnson,
a board-certified radiologist, has worked with Arrowhead Consultation
Services for over 20 years. Dr. Johnson received his medical degree
from the University of Minnesota in 1978 and completed his residency
in diagnostic radiology at Fairview University Medical Center in

Mary Nett |
Dr. Nett, a board-certified radiologist, has worked
with Arrowhead Consultation Services for over 20 years. Dr. Nett
received her medical degree from Mayo Medical School and completed
her residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of
Minnesota.

Grant Custer, MD |
Dr. Custer is a
board-certified surgeon specializing in general and vascular surgery and is a
fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Raised in Reading, PA, he attended Johns Hopkins University and completed medical school at Georgetown University. Dr. Custer completed his surgical residency at Dartmouth / Hitchcock Medical Center. He enjoys fishing, hunting, golf, ultralight flying and woodworking in his spare time.

John Kole, MD |
Dr. Kole, a board-certified surgeon and
fellow of the American College of Surgeons, joined Grand Itasca in 1994. A native of Chicago, IL, he attended Northwestern University and completed medical school at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Kole completed his residency in general surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. He enjoys snowmobiling, golf and rooting for the Chicago Bears.

Nathan Noznesky, MD |
Dr. Nathan Noznesky, a
board-certified surgeon and fellow of the American College of
Surgeons, joined Grand Itasca in 2009. Dr. Noznesky attended Temple
University and received his medical degree from Temple’s School of
Medicine. Dr. Noznesky completed his surgical residency at Episcopal
Hospital in Philadelphia. PA. He enjoys traveling and the
out-of-doors.

Russell Lawson, MD
|
Dr. Lawson, a board-certified
urologist, joined Grand Itasca in August of 2006. Lawson held
teaching and leadership positions at the University of Oregon
Medical School, was acting chief of urology at the U.S. Veteran’s
Hospital in Portland, OR, and a professor and chairman of the
department of urology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He was
elected to “Best Doctors in America” by his peers and has received
numerous grants and awards for extensive research in a variety of
urological conditions.
