The Foundation Board also released a new mission statement and three guiding principles to serve as clear guidelines for the present and the future direction of Grand Itasca Foundation. Our new mission is “To build philanthropic partnerships to support the mission of Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital.” The three guiding principles are 1.) Grand Itasca Foundation will help support the internal needs of Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital, 2.) Grand Itasca Foundation will promote a healthy community by supporting wellness initiatives, and 3.) Grand Itasca Foundation will raise community awareness about the impact and value of Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital.

“Our board members are invaluable. We owe all that we do and achieve to the work of our board members,” said Kelly Kirwin, Grand Itasca Foundation Director, “These community volunteers are continually working to foster meaningful relationships and support for the clinic and hospital. They recognize the true value of Grand Itasca as a community asset and the need for personalized health care close to home.”

Grand Itasca Foundation is a local non-profit organization founded in 1986 with the sole purpose of raising awareness and funds to better serve the health care needs of this community. Thanks to donors who believe in Grand Itasca’s lifesaving work, Grand Itasca Foundation has awarded over $2 million dollars in grants to fund numerous projects at Grand Itasca for our community including digital mammography, cardiac rehab treadmill equipment, heated infusion chairs for cancer patients and wellness outreach programs for all ages.

Grand Itasca Foundation has also distributed over $73,000 in scholarships supporting traditional and non-traditional students pursuing an education in a health science field. Scholarships represent Grand Itasca’s investment in our community’s medical work force.

“Adding five new members to our Foundation board really makes a positive statement about community support and their belief in our work that raises dollars to directly impact the quality of care provided to Grand Itasca patients and families,” said Kirwin. “Our new mission statement is a powerful driver to help donors understand what we do, what we’re focused on and where we are going.”
