You can see Grand Itasca Volunteer Services (GIVS) membership at work throughout the clinic and hospital including the gift shop, information desk, surgery desk and the coffee bar. In addition, volunteers participate in a variety of special projects that add value to the Grand Itasca patient experience. Volunteers coordinate blood drives at the hospital, knit hats and sew stockings for newborn babies and make blankets for children who visit our hospital.

GIVS raises funds through sales at the gift shop and coffee bar. In 2014, GIVS awarded over $30,000 to projects and programs at Grand Itasca including new fetal monitors, a mobile blanket warmer and landscaping at both campuses. GIVS annually funds the Reach Out and Read book program, which distributes a new book to all children ages birth to 5 at their well-child visits. GIVS also awards over $8,000 annually in scholarships to students pursuing an education in the field of health care.
