Internal Medicine

Internal medicine is a medical specialty that focuses on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases.  Quite simply, internists are doctor who provide medical services to adults.

On a day-to-day basis, internists see their adult patients and assist other physicians in solving complicated diagnostic problems.  The diseases commonly addressed include: diabetes, heart disease, hypothyroidism, obesity, osteoporosis, sleep apnea, hypertension and arthritis.  Many internists see their patients for life, they coordinate patient care with other medical specialists and manage medical issue related to their care.


Our team of pediatric care providers provide medical care to children from birth to early adulthood (usually until about age 21).  Pediatricians diagnose and treat medical conditions and also provide preventative care (eg. Immunizations, wellness exams).  They focus on improving overall health, reducing childhood mortality, controlling the spread of infectious diseases and promotion healthy lifestyles.

General Surgery

Our team of general surgeons at Grand Itasca perform a wide variety of surgeries covering many areas of the body, such as the breast and abdomen.  Patients are usually referred to a general surgeon by their primary care provider.


Grand Itasca provides a full spectrum of care for women, offering complete obstetrical care.  Serving patients from adolescence through menopause and beyond.  Complete gynecological services are available including: Yearly exams with pap smears, evaluation of abnormal paps, management of menstrual irregularities, infertility, birth control and menopause.


Specializing in the treatment of diseases and disorders related to the urinary tracts of both men and women, the Urologist at Grand Itasca is here to care for you.


Chiropractic care is a drug-free, hands-on approach to the treatment of musculoskeletal problems and soft-tissue injuries, like back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.


Grand Itasca partners with the University of Minnesota to offer world-class heart care. Working closely with primary care physicians, the full-time Grand Itasca based heart care team provides a full range of cardiology services for patients. The relationship with the Univeristy of Minnesota brings the benefit of research-based, academic medicine, close to home.


Grand Itasca is dedicated to meeting the needs of people with cancer and their families with dignity through quality oncology services, close to home. In partnership with the University of Minnesota Physicians, Grand Itasca offers medical oncology services. In addition, Grand Itasca offers outpatient chemotherapy in the Cancer & Infusion Center, and also offers monthly support groups for cancer patients and cancer caregivers. Occupational Medicine

Grand Itasca's Occupational Medicine team offers workers compensation injury examinations and re-evaluations, pre-employment physicals, return-to-work physicals, functional capacities evaluations, Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals, executive health physicals, independent insurance physical exams, isokinetic strength testing, drug testing, spirometry and work-site evaluations.
