Grand Itasca Offers Outreach Obstetric and Gynecologic Care
Finding specialized obstetric and gynecologic care in rural areas can be a challenge. Dr. Derek Beyer, OB/Gyn, shares how Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital is working to improve access to women's health care by providing outreach services in International Falls and Bigfork.

Grand Itasca is fortunate to have four full-time OB/Gyn providers, making it possible to provide expert prenatal and gynecologic care not only within our facility but to surrounding communities as well.
A Grand Itasca OB/Gyn specialist is now available to see patients at Rainy Lake Medical Center in International Falls, MN.
Dr. Derek Beyer provides full-spectrum obstetric and gynecological care including clinic appointments and certain surgeries. Should the need arise for advance gynecologic surgery, patients can schedule their procedure at Grand Itasca in Grand Rapids, MN.
Obstetric patients can complete their prenatal clinic appointments and lab work at Rainy Lake Medical Center. When it is time to deliver their baby, patients are able to do so at Grand Itasca, accessing a state-of-the-art facility and continuity of care with the provider who saw them through their prenatal journey.
“We offer outreach service so patients can get care in their community without having to travel a long distance,” says Dr. Derek Beyer. “This is a way to keep it safe, especially knowing how our winters can be. We want to give patients access to quality health care in their hometowns.”
